The 2 biggest problems faced while trying to lose weight and how to solve them

Ask any group of overweight individuals why they failed on a previous weight loss effort and are still overweight, in one form or another, they will tell you one of the following two things:
  • They couldn't stick to the program!
  • They did lose some weight but eventually gained it all back!
The above two problems are the 2 biggest if not the only 2 problems faced by almost all individuals trying to lose weight and guess what.. They're both related to mind and human behavior rather than to any diet or exercise plan.

The root cause of these problems lies in the fact that an individual is expected to follow a weight loss system consciously for lifetime or in other words, he is expected to live his life experiencing a constant conflict between his mind and heart or more technically, his conscious and unconscious minds!

What's needed to solve these problems is a complete lifestyle shift attained at the level of one's subconscious mind so he doesn't have to consciously follow a weight loss plan for all his life.

The subconscious level lifestyle shift solves both the above stated problems because one's mind and heart become completely harmonious as far as the new healthy lifestyle is concerned and it no longer remains a 'forced lifestyle'!

Lose Weight Fast - Is quick weight loss possible?

Wait. Hold on. What?!?

Are you serious? You really thought this article was going to be about the amazingly safe and very-much-possible ways that you can actually lose weight fast? HA! I don't mean to laugh, but... HA! Sorry. It doesn't mean you are stupid for thinking that quick weight loss is actually possible and/or safe. It just means you watch TV, read magazines, and are a normal human being living on the planet earth.

You see, it is the jobs of so many people to put the idea of quick weight loss into your head. They spend millions of dollars trying to do just that. They want you to want it, hope for it, and believe in it. Oh, and they also want you to buy whatever weight loss or diet pill, product, or supplement they are trying to sell you in order to make these supposed rapid results happen.

This is the type of quick weight loss that I have nicknamed the "impossible" type. It's the type that only exists in some sort of diet product fantasy world where lies really do come true. In the real world however, they are just plain old lies.

You can't really blame these people though. Ok, you can. But I mean, how many diet pills do you think they'd sell if they claimed they would make you lose weight slowly? Or if the big tag-line of some fitness product was "Buy this fitness product so you can lose weight at the normal recommended speed!!" They probably wouldn't make too much money like that, and, if you didn't already know, weight loss is all about making money.

That's typically why the only real time you see, hear, or think the phrase "lose weight fast" is when something is being sold to you. For example, how many amazing before and after pictures have you seen? And, after seeing them, how many times have you wished that you could get those same results just as quick and easy as they say they did?

Well, here's a quick tip. As soon as before and after pictures are presented to you in an attempt to prove some type of diet or weight loss product actually works (and works fast), you should run far, far away. Stop watching, stop reading, stop listening. It's all lies. Every person, every word.

- They are paid actors and models.
- They all looked that good long before whatever quick weight loss product they are advertising was even invented.
- The pictures are fake.
- They are heads on different bodies.
- They are 6 months apart instead of 6 weeks apart.
- The lighting has been changed.
- The person is flexing and smiling instead of slouching and frowning.
- They were ugly and pale, now they're pretty and tan.
- The "after" picture is really the before picture, and they then had this in-shape person purposely gain weight to create a "before" picture.
Something, somehow, in someway, is a lie.

Equally fake are the claims that they were able to lose weight fast. "I lost 30 pounds in just 2 weeks!" The only way you're going to lose that much weight that fast is if you are involved in some kind of chainsaw accident. Seriously, any weight loss claim that seems way too good to be true always is. Remember that.

As unfortunate as this may sound, there is just no way to lose such crazy amounts of weight in such short periods of time. It's just impossible. The only people that will tell you anything different are the wonderful people trying to sell you something. They will throw pictures, testimonials, money back guarantees, celebrities, and the kitchen sink at you in order to get you to believe it.

3 Weight Loss Super Foods to Help You with Quick Weight Loss

How nice it would have been if you could lose weight by eating, right? Well, your wish is about to come true. In this article I will tell you of three such foods that will help you lose weight. Sounds too good to be true? Well, just read this article to understand what I mean!
1. Lean meats: Lean chicken meat is one of the best weight loss foods you can ever have! Why? It contains a lot of amount of protein and very little fat, and as you know, protein will build lean muscles. Lean muscles will help you burn fat by accelerating your metabolic rate!
If chicken proves to be too expensive for your pocket, try turkey breast! In any case, make sure you eat only lean meats and stay away from red meat!
Fishes are also very good for quick weight loss. Fishes such as salmon and tuna contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids fall in the category of 'good fats' or unsaturated fats. You gained weight because of a hormone called leptin which stores fat inside your body. Omega-3 fatty acids will cut down on leptin; when that happens, you are bound to lose weight!
2. Olive oil: Replace your fatty oil with olive oil. Olive oil is almost free from the 'bad fats' (saturated fats) and contains a considerable amount of unsaturated fats. These unsaturated fats will not only suppress your appetite but also fight cholesterol. In short, olive oil will keep your cholesterol levels down.
3. Berries: Berries are also good for weight loss. There are several types of berries: blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc. All of them will help you with weight loss in one or the other way. Strawberry is especially the best among the berries: not only it tastes good, but also helps in suppressing your appetite. Once you get rid of hunger pangs, you can focus more on your weight loss goals and less on eating!
As you can see, just because you want to lose weight doesn't mean that you have to starve. Many people tend to starve or follow crash diets but nothing beats eating and losing weight. I firmly believe that if you eat the right foods, you will not only lose weight but also become healthy. Plus the foods I mentioned above are also rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
Also remember that these are not the only weight loss super foods that are available to you. Other foods such as nuts, oatmeal, eggs and almonds can also help you with weight loss. Add these foods to your diet and see how quickly you are able to get rid of your fat belly!

Why Most People Fail At Losing Weight

Why do so many people fail at losing weight? Is it because they are lazy? No. Is it because they are addicted to food? No. Is it because they aren’t good at exercising? No. Failure at weight loss stems from a few main factors:
  • People don't truly understand the risks of being overweight. Why do most want to lose weight? Most would say to look better. Looking better certainly is a benefit of losing weight, but this shouldn’t be the sole reason to lose weight. There is a 1000 pound gorilla in the room and it’s often ignored. Being overweight for a long period of time kills thousands of people each year. Thousands of studies have shown and proven without any doubt that losing body fat will improve and lengthen your life. Knowing the dangers of being overweight is a tremendous motivator to not only lose fat, but to keep it off.
  • People don't commit to permanent lifestyle changes. So many people think of a "diet" as something temporary. When they are on a "diet" they restrict themselves so much that they are miserable. Sooner or later failure is inevitable because of the unreasonable demands of most "diets." Some of these diets force you to only eat certain foods (e.g., no carbs, special soups etc…) You, like myself, have probably tried them before. The key to losing weight long term is to make gradual lifestyle changes you can stick to forever.
  • Most individuals are not provided the truthful facts of losing weight and becoming healthier. With the conflicting information in the media, and all of the different lose weight quick fad diets, it’s understandable why so many people really don’t know the truth about losing fat and keeping it off long term.
  • Most people don't understand they are constantly either gaining fat, or losing fat. There is no in-between. Some people justify binging or giving up because they hit a small road-block. This isn’t an all or nothing game. For example, when I was overweight, if I ate an unhealthy lunch, I’d go ahead and eat an unhealthy dinner since I already "messed up" the day. Or I’d say, I’ll start eating healthy on Monday since I’ve already eaten poorly this weekend. Every person at times eats too much. The successful people will not let a road bump completely derail their entire lifestyle change. If you are not implementing positive lifestyle changes and losing weight, you are gaining weight. Again, there is no "in-between."
  • Most people don't realize what they consume each day. So many overweight people eat thousands of extra calories and fat without realizing it. It’s tough to know if you are gaining weight or losing weight each day unless you are keeping an eye on what you’re consuming.

Study Finds Mid-Life Women Lose Weight by Reading Food Labels

(NaturalNews) Mid-life for many women is a constant struggle to salvage what is left of a waistline that seems to be gradually morphing into a shapeless belly. Diet and exercise are the standard advice. But what really works? One recent study indicates that exercising alone will not do the trick but keeping a sharp eye on food labels is effective for weight loss.

The study, published in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, concludes that people who make it a habit to read food labels and to exercise lose more weight than those who merely exercise. Even more interesting is that those who only read food labels and are sedentary lose more than those who exercise but ignore the food labels.

Not surprisingly, the study found that women between the ages of 37 and 50 years are more likely to read food labels than their male counterparts and are therefore more likely to lose weight.

The study`s author, Bidisha Mandal, Ph.D., an assistant professor at the School of Economic Sciences at Washington State University, looked at four years` worth of data drawn from a National Longitudinal Survey of Youth which had 12,000 original participants born from 1957 to 1964. Over fifty percent of the study`s participants were trying to lose weight and of these less than fifty percent were reading food labels on their first time purchase of a product.

Americans have been reading food labels since 1994 when the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act was passed requiring food manufactures to disclose nutrient and ingredient information on their packages. Recently states and the federal government have extended the disclosure requirements to chain restaurants and vending machines.

What should you be looking for when you are reading the small print on food labels? Here are six simple tips to reading a food label for weight loss:

1. Claims on the front, back, and sides of the box, except for the small print of the nutrition facts panel and the ingredient list, are advertising. Don`t rely on those claims.

2. Remember that the first ingredient listed on the label is the largest by weight. If the first or second ingredient is sugar, the product is mostly sugar and it`s best to pass on it. Sugar goes by many names, so keep an eye out for maltose, sucrose, dextrose and evaporated cane juice, just to name a few.

3. Check the ingredient list for anything that says "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated." This indicates the presence of trans fats. Even if the nutrition fact panel or the box claims "Zero Trans Fat," the product can contain up to one half gram and still make the claim of no trans fats. Avoid any product with those unhealthy fats in the small print ingredient list.

4. Check the ingredient list for "high fructose corn syrup," and avoid any products containing it.

5. If the ingredient list is really, really long with words you don`t know, pass on that product. In general, the fewer the ingredients, the better the product is for you.

6. For breads, cereals and crackers, the first ingredient better say whole grain or whole wheat, not refined or enriched wheat or flour, and there should be at least 2 grams of fiber for each serving of 100 calories.

How Lamb and Pears Can Help Your Food Allergy

By: Jack Prime
Lamb and pears may appear to be a strange combination, but the reason they are chosen as part of a food allergy diet is because they are rarely indicated in allergies and are therefore relatively safe foods for most people with a food allergy to eat.

Often the best way to treat a food allergy is to avoid the food that causes the allergy altogether so a period of exclusion gives your body a chance to tell you which foods are making you ill and whether you react to one food or many foods.

An exclusion diet consists of eliminating one or more foods completely from the diet for a given period of time and then reintroducing foods one at a time to check for adverse reactions.

If you are committed to the process your efforts will be rewarded with the food, or foods, that cause your problems and you can be free of the symptoms and distress a food allergy may cause.

The principle of the lamb and pears food allergies diet is that you only eat these two foods, lamb, pears and bottled or filtered water, for five to seven days. During the course of the food allergy diet you can begin reintroducing other foods one at a time and gauge whether they cause a food allergy reaction.

As the lamb and pears food allergy diet is so restrictive it gives a chance for your system to clear and reveal the hidden allergies which are causing illness or allergy symptoms.

Keep a food diary to track your progress and note down how you are feeling during the diet.

If your food allergy symptoms disappear during the diet you can try and reintroduce suspect foods to see if they cause you a reaction. Keep a note of how you feel before and after eating the different foods you reintroduce.

Any food that does cause a reaction needs to be kept out of your diet and placed on your "foods to avoid list". If a food passes your test successfully you can place it on your "foods you can eat" list.

For best results take each step slowly; reintroduce foods slowly, perhaps one food per meal and if possible one food per day.

A variation of the lamb and pears food allergy diet allows you to eat turkey and peaches, or rabbit and raspberries.

Important note! A two food diet is very restrictive and should never be followed without close supervision or for an extended period of time. Severe exclusion diets can compromise your nutritional well-being so pregnant women, children, diabetics, epileptics, anyone with emotional disturbances or anyone with a serious illness should seek professional advice before embarking on any type of food allergy treatment or exclusion diet.
